Marine Electrical & Lighting Technician
Imtra is actively looking to enhance its lighting department with the addition of a qualified electrical engineer. While this role is primarily focused on projects relating to the lighting program, occasional cross-over requests relating to other areas of the company are likely. Some of the common expectations of this role are detailed below:
- Performs/Supports qualification tests related to Electrical, Thermal, EMC, Environmental requirements.
- Assists product manager with product development process from concept through launch.
- Performs competitive benchmarking in conjunction with product management.
- Supports cross-functional departments - marketing, manufacturing, quality, and interfaces with external customers & suppliers.
- Writes technical documents and manuals.
- Assists with generating lighting plans and layouts.
- Maintains CAD and photometric library.
- Assists with display design and construction.
- Technical support, including training for sales staff.
Qualifications - Preferred candidate should have a working knowledge of marine electrical systems and be familiar with ABYC classifications rules & requirements. Familiarity with IESNA standards is also helpful.
- Familiarity with LED and other solid state lighting electronics is beneficial.
- Minimum 3-5+ years experience in Electrical Engineering practices.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or IES Photometric software is a plus.
- Electrical Engineering experience with marine systems is expected. Electrical Engineering degree is preferred.
- Must be a team player with good written and verbal communication skills.
Education - BS/BA in Electrical Engineering/Project Engineering
