WHAT ARE SLEIPNER (SIDE-POWER) STABILIZERS?

Sleipner (Side-Power’s) Vector Fin Stabilizer system is a unique solution to an old problem: Seasickness. With Sleipner stabilizers, you can virtually eliminate that awful feeling of being seasick, whether underway or at anchor. Fin stabilizers is the only system that provides effective stabilization both at anchor and while cruising at planing speeds, and Side-Power stabilizers are about 30% more effective than all others. The curved shape of the Vector fins provides a more effective, more efficient method of stabilizing your boat at any speed, from at anchor or station-holding, to underway at speeds up to 43 knots. They are approximately 50% more efficient than conventional flat fins, and unlike flat fins, the curved Sleipner fins create enough lift to offset drag, resulting in virtually no loss of speed unlike flat fins. Sleipner Vector fins are designed for vessels between 52 and 150 feet.

Sleipner's Electric Vector Fins™

Experience unparalleled comfort and performance with Sleipner's Electric Vector Fins™. Designed to revolutionize your boating experience, Sleipner’s cutting-edge technology offers:

Unmatched Reliability: Sleipner’s electric actuators use a revolutionary gear system for unprecedented reliability and energy efficiency.

Unmatched Stability:

  • Sleipner’s 3rd generation Vector Fins typically DOUBLE the stabilizing force per kW of power, consuming far less energy to achieve the same stabilizing force as flat fins.
  • Size for size, Electric Vector Fins provide up to 90% greater stabilizing force at anchor than conventional flat fins!

Performance Advantages: Enjoy improved fuel efficiency and increased speed compared to conventional flat fins.

Sleep in peace: Sleipners new electric actuators utilize a patented design to isolate the moving, mechanical high torque gears and motor from the hull, reducing about 92% of structural born noise.

Say goodbye to sea sickness with Sleipner's Electric Vector Fins. Discover the perfect balance of performance, comfort, and efficiency today!

Sleipner's Vector Fin™

One look at the revolutionary Vector Fin™ shows you that it’s different from conventional fin stabilizers. The shape directs anti-roll forces more efficiently. This means they can be smaller than conventional straight fins. This reduced size with the same power, hydrodynamically optimized fin profile, and lift induced by the shape helps reduce any drag caused by adding stabilizers. In most installations, we see no loss of speed or efficiency - in some, we have actually seen gains in both top speed and fuel economy. Vector Fins are available in 6 sizes to suit boats from about 52’ up to 150’. 2 and 4 fins systems available.

ACTUATORS

8 different actuators are available to suit fiberglass, aluminum, steel or wood hull construction.

  • The smallest size uses a rack-and-pinion style actuator which has no cylinder bearings to service and virtually no moving parts.
  • All actuators feature dual cylinders for equal, balanced power in both directions
  • All offer state-of-the-art bearings that offer virtually silent operation, which is great when the actuators are mounted in living quarters.
  • The service interval is typically 4,000 hours which is far less frequent than those of other manufacturers.
  • Side-Power actuators feature a low profile which typically fit into spaces others cannot.

POWER SYSTEMS

  • The stabilizers are powered via a self-contained AC powerpack with option for engine driven pump.
  • The powerpack can be integrated with hydraulic thruster, windlass, capstans or other functions, such as emergency bilge pump, deck wash, fire pump, etc.
  • Powerpacks are pre-wired and pre-plumbed for easy installation.
  • All components communicate via Sleipner's S-Link CANbus system
    • Installation is easier
    • Multiple control stations are easy to add
    • The stabilizers are linked to the thrusters
    • Warnings and alarms are communicated to all components
    • Software updates for all components are easily installed through a single portal
