The compact design of the actuator is cleverly engineered around a frameless torque motor and a Harmonic Drive strain wave gear. A combination of aluminum, composite, and stainless-steel materials for minimal weight and maximum life expectancy. The gear type is chosen considering the extreme loads fins might get in heavy seas and have safety factors and features way above the gear types typically used in electric actuators.
Another focus has been on noise reduction through its development, resulting in a patented solution reducing 92% of the structural born noise from the actuator. Another benefit is that it reduces peak stress loads on the gears and the hull.
S-LINK™
S-Link™ is a CAN-based control system used for communication between Sleipner products installed on a vessel.
ANY SPEED
Vector Fins™ is the only top-performing stabilizer system for both cruising and at anchor use. The fins’ concave shape creates multilateral force direction improving the stationary positioning of a vessel while at anchor. The uniqueness of the design also becomes evident while underway as it improves in effectiveness as speed increases. Sea trials have proven that Vector Fins™ are up to 50% more efficient at anchor and capable of reducing the uncomfortable rolling motions of the vessel by up to 95% while cruising.
PATENTED DESIGN
Sleipner continually reinvests in developing and offering the latest technology in marine advancements. Patented products are revolutionary one-of-a-kind designs available and sold exclusively by Sleipner.
360° INSTALLATION
Designed to fit in small and challenging installation areas, the Vector Fins™ unique cone shaft design allows you to utilize the space onboard to install the actuators in any direction and insert the fins into the position you require.
GALVANIC SEPARATION
Immersed parts exposed to seawater are galvanic isolated from the onboard electrical system, eliminating stray currents.
